Transcript:
ANPR technology developed right here in Perth could be used around the world to detect people breaching covert quarantine by using just a mobile phone camera; it can also help catch people breaking new travel restrictions a simple snap on your phone and a person doing the wrong thing is busted head alert quarantined occupants.
Local company, Pixelcase, has developed the technology using artificial intelligence to identify number plates it's being used in the u.s and Europe they've repurposed it to detect cars registered to people quarantined because of covid 19.
This is what it would look like in a police car hit alert ford ranger out of jurisdiction number plates are checked against a database which sends an alert when it finds a vehicle that isn't where it's supposed to be.
This vehicle is registered in South West Australia. If they're registered within a specific jurisdiction and located outside to be set within a notification system.
WA police say they have technology that does the same thing which they've already repurposed; we're already using automatic number plate recognition we hope to expand that the state government is looking at an app used in Singapore that stores BlueTooth locations to identify if someone has been near a person who has the virus.
